@MAM Online has been highly informed and the Masjid Committee also notified that the Kumasi Sofoline Mosque has been sold to an unknown rich person in the metropolis who intends to demolish the OVER 60 YEARS OLD MOSQUE for commercial structure in coming months.
Speaking to the Imam, Zongo Chief, Elders and residents of Sofoline during MAM Online weekly Jummuah coverage at varius Masjid in Kumasi, we made at stop at the Ghana’s World War II veterans yard in Kumasi.
Hajia Hajarat Sidiq (Resident since the 1st Republic) said:
”We have been told to believe that every Government loves muslims but then, this Masjid has become a target of some rich individuals who want to buy and explore the place for commercial purposes which Government Institution like
the Lands Commission has been mention to be part of this . My father played an integral role in the purchase and building of this Mosque but in Islam if you build a Mosque it no longer belongs to you. It belongs to Allah and all muslims around the world so this is the time the muslims ummah should wake up and claim
the Masjid back”
